Gene and Lucky the Durham Bulls Dog at the Ballgame

July 19, 2010

Gene Lonsway, head dog trainer here, and his dog Lucky Junior have been at the Durham Bulls’ home games these past two weekends.  Lucky got to do his victory lap around the bases for the first time and is getting used to all the attention he gets from fans at the ballpark.

Lucky’s first time running the bases didn’t go exactly as planned.  As you can see, he got a bit distracted by all the cheering fans and activity on the field.  Nonetheless, he made his lap and jumped right onto home plate.  Check it out…

Lucky gets lots of love from the fans at the ballpark.  Take a look…

This next one shows Lucky Junior getting some polish on his solo leash manners, in particular making left and right turns.

Lucky Junior learns to lay down

To kick things off with this blog we have three videos showing the Durham Bulls’ mascot, Lucky Junior learning to lie down.  Watch below, and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel!

Just for the record: It’s hard when you have a bunch of dogs named Lucky, so at home Lucky Junior is called Buddy.  (I wonder how George Foreman does it!)
